Statewide Primary Election - June 7th

On Tuesday, June 7th, there will be a Statewide Primary Election, which includes primary elections selecting candidates for the one of California’ seats in the United States Senate, United States Representative, statewide elected officials, Assemblymember, County officials, and other offices. Also on the ballot are statewide measures.

Voter Registration

The last day to register to vote for the June 7th  election is Monday, May 23rd. Voter registration forms are available at the City Clerk’s Office and the Registrar of Voters Office. Online voter registration is available at http://registertovote.ca.gov/

Vote By Mail Election

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this will be an entirely vote by mail election. Each registered voter in the city will be mailed a vote by mail ballot. Mailing began on Monday, May 9th.

Voters may drop Vote By Mail ballots in to the secure ballot box located on Highland Way near the mailboxes 24 hours a day up to and including Election Day. Click to view a map of the Ballot Drop Boxes in Alameda County. Voters may also turn in Vote By Mail ballots to any Accessible Voting Location in Alameda County on Election Day.

The Veterans’ Memorial Building will serve as an Accessible Voting Location for this election. Any resident of Alameda County can come to the Veterans’ Hall and cast their ballot or drop off their vote by mail ballot. The nearly 100 accessible voting locations throughout Alameda County will be open from June 4th through Election Day, June 7th. Sample Ballot / Voter Information Pamphlet

The Alameda County Registrar of Voters began mailing Sample Ballot / Voter Information Pamphlets to registered voters on Thursday, April 28th. If you have not received your sample ballot, please contact the Alameda County Registrar of Voters Office at (510) 272-6933.
