Discounts on Rooftop Solar and Battery Storage

October 5, 2022

Considering solar panels for your home? For a limited time, Piedmont homeowners can get discounts on rooftop solar and battery storage by pooling their buying power with others through the Bay Area SunShares program.

Solar panels are a great way to offset energy costs and reduce the environmental impact of your home. Battery backups allow you to store energy for later use, which can help keep essential devices like medical equipment and refrigerators running during power outages. Both tools help contribute to energy independence and increase your home’s value.

Solar costs have fallen dramatically over the last decade. SunShares offers solar pricing at about 15% below the average market rate and can be stacked with the federal solar tax credit, which was recently increased from 26% to 30% thanks to the Inflation Reduction Act.

Learn more, ask questions, and speak directly to SunShares solar providers at an upcoming webinar:

Sign up by November 15th to participate in this year’s SunShares program.

By registering, you’ll get a no-cost, no-obligation site evaluation to determine if your home is suitable for solar and battery storage. If you decide to proceed with installation, you’ll have the choice of three pre-vetted solar installers selected by an independent evaluation committee. Once you get proposals, you’ll have until December 15th to sign a contract with your preferred installer at the SunShares discount rate. Installations will take place in Spring 2023.

The City of Piedmont is proud to join over 40 other Bay Area municipalities and employers to partner with the SunShares program and support your transition to cleaner energy at home.
